New Canada Council Member from Pomerleau

We are pleased to welcome on board Magda Sabat, Vice President, Pomerleau, as a Canada Council Member:

We asked Magda a few questions to get to know her a bit better:

• If you could personally change or influence one thing within infrastructure and/or energy, what would it be?

Integration of knowledge and understanding of all parties involved. Infrastructure requires a very wide range of expertise to develop and deliver programs and projects. Building a better way to understand various involved parties will make for solution driven approaches, rather than misunderstandings and disputes, which will deliver quality results.

• Knowing what you know now, what advice would you give to yourself at the start of your career?

There is no one formula to success.  Focusing on what drives you and stepping into opportunities that challenge you are the two best ways to grow and develop professionally.

• What do you hope to bring to this Council?

Diversity of view with respect to challenges faced by the infrastructure sector, where the growth of program requirements and historical approach to risk allocation and management exceed the ability of the construction sector to meet needs.
