Tarek has over 23 years of project financing experience in Australasia involved in advising, originating, structuring and executing a large number of transactions covering various sectors including oil & gas, resources, energy, power, renewables and infrastructure at both WBC (Westpac Banking Corp) and SMBC. Tarek is the current Co-Chair of IPFA in Australia and was also the Chairman of the APLMA Project Finance Committee in Australia prior to stepping down.

Prior to working in the Banking sector, Tarek worked for a number of years as an Engineer for Halliburton Energy Services and WS Atkins Consulting Engineers on several oil & gas and
infrastructure projects based in the UK, UAE and Saudi Arabia. Tarek holds a BEng (Hons) in Civil Engineering from Aston University, Birmingham, UK and an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management (AGSM), Sydney, Australia. More recently Tarek completed an Executive MBA program at Wharton Business School at the University of Pennsylvania in the USA.
