Member Code of Conduct
1. Purpose
This policy ensures a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all attendees, speakers, staff, and partners at our events. This policy applies to all participants of events organised or hosted by IPFA; both in person and virtual.
2. Expected Conduct
All attendees must behave professionally and respectfully, refraining from harassment, discrimination, or disruptive behaviour.
3. Unacceptable Conduct
Improper conduct or behaviour includes, but is not limited to:
-
- Harassment (verbal, physical, or online).
- Discrimination or hate speech.
- Intimidation, bullying, or threats.
- Excessive intoxication leading to disruptive behavior or mean professional boundaries and behaviours cannot be maintained.
- Any conduct that negatively impacts the event experience for others.
Legal action may be considered if a criminal offence is suspected and, if appropriate, the matter may be reported to the Police or other relevant authorities.
4. Reporting and Response
If you experience any form of unacceptable conduct whilst participating in any IPFA event or activity, or if you are made aware that someone else may be affected by inappropriate behaviour, you should contact IPFA.
-
- Incidents should be reported to event staff (member host, IPFA team member or IPFA Trainer) or a Branch Council Member either at the event or by contacting [email protected].
- Reports will be handled confidentially and investigated promptly.
- IPFA will identify a main point of contact to manage and investigate the complaint.
- Consequences may include warnings, removal from the event, suspension of membership, or legal action if necessary.
Anyone who experiences harassment may also seek help from other relevant authorities, such as the police, or other legal or support services.
No one should knowingly make a false or misleading claim about prohibited conduct.
5. Enforcement
Event organisers and IPFA reserve the right to take appropriate action, including revoking their membership, denying entry or banning individuals from future events.
By attending, all members agree to adhere to this policy and uphold the standards of our community.
