On a typical transaction, you will be part of a team of two people (a VP/Director supported by either an Analyst or Associate depending on the complexity of the transaction/availability) which directly supports one of our managing Partners leading the transaction alongside the Chief Risk Officer. The team operates with little hierarchy thus providing you an exceptional opportunity to gain meaningful exposure to all aspects of the investment process and borrowers/clients.
Key responsibilities:
• Playing a lead role in the analysis of potential investment opportunities through detailed project financial modelling (different debt structures, financial ratio analysis, sensitivity analysis, etc.) and due diligence of borrower/client materials (including deal team calls/information meetings/site visits).
• For existing credits, proactively maintaining up-to-date monitoring files and data, interacting with risk management and portfolio management as required.
• With guidance from the VP/Partner, playing a lead role in the preparation of investment memorandums for potential private debt investments. Supporting the transaction team in presenting the investment (and memorandum/materials) to the Credit Committee.
• Taking a lead support role in the transaction document flow: drafting and review of confidentiality agreements, letters of intent, regulatory filings, KYC packs, settlement process and team credentials.
• Leading industry and economic research to support transaction teams on specific credits.
• Keeping abreast of and tracking relevant industry and capital market news/events in the context of how these may impact our investments.
• Assisting, as may be required, the Portfolio Management team with the ongoing management of the existing investment portfolio, including monthly reporting.
• Mentoring Analysts and summer interns to further their professional development.
Core requirements: Excellent MS Excel skills in building complex project financial models, excellent presentation and writing skills, native English fluency (reading, written and spoken), ability to proactively manage your workload and take ownership of the credits (new and existing) assigned to you.
Other requirements: Demonstrable interest in infrastructure and investing, some financial restructuring experience will be an advantage, ability to work on several work streams in parallel, comfortable in working directly with senior team members, fluency in European languages, travel (incl. overseas) for site visits/borrower visits from time to time.
