IPPs in Africa – Evaluating the Continued Need for Liquidity Instruments

This article was produced by African Trade Insurance Agency (ATI), a member of IPFA.

A lot has changed in the power sector in Sub-Saharan Africa and the need for liquidity guarantees and political risk insurance has evolved. As ATI Closes Phase 1 of its Regional Liquidity Support Facility (RLSF), Obbie Banda talks about why RLSF and other similar liquidity instruments matter as they evaluate the continued need for liquidity instruments for IPPs in Africa.
