What Are the Key Barriers to the UK and Scotland Being Competitive in the OSW Supply Chain?

Find out what was discussed – download the event summary from our event held on Tuesday 7 November 2023 in Glasgow (Scroll down for link)

What was the event about?

What are the current risks, challenges, and opportunities in the offshore wind supply chain and how does Scotland and the UK remain competitive?

Discussion points:

-We’ve seen recent constraints on HVDC cable supply and manufacturers making moves to increase capacity, what other components will we see have similar constraints?
-OEMs in financial difficulties – what could be the impact across the supply chain and what do you see happening next?
-What needs to happen at the regulatory/government level to enable the UK to differentiate itself? Would the SIM help?
-How the market can manage pricing that was secured through CfD R3 & R4 and what does this means for future CfD rounds?

With thanks to our speakers:

– Gavin Hood, Head of Corporate Finance Advisory, Deloitte (Moderator)

– Claire Mack, CEO, Scottish Renewables
– Elliot Wishlade, Head of Programme Team, Scottish Offshore Wind Energy Council Strategic Investment Model
– Eamon Hayes, Head of Procurement, SSE
– Andrew Macdonald, Head of Supply Chain, OREC

We’d also like to thank Deloitte for hosting the event.
