As states and DOTs grapple with mounting transportation infrastructure challenges, including funding sources, tolling and managed lane projects are playing an increasingly important role. A number of major toll projects have advanced over the last year, including Georgia’s I-285 Eastside Express Lanes P3 Project and Tennessee’s I-24 Southeast Choice Lanes P3 Project. These new projects differ in key ways from their US predecessors, with an increased focus on users’ choice and utilizing new technology.
Our panel of transportation experts discussed the near term and long view of toll roads and managed lane facilities and what to expect (or not) from the new pipeline of projects.
