Sea Ports in Poland – First Step to Multimodal Transport

Following implementation of PPP Policy, amendments to the PPP Law and issuance of  PPP Guidelines, the public authorities in Poland are equipped with the instruments to develop the PPP projects and prepare the solid pipeline for the next few years.

Recently, two companies responsible for managing of maritime ports in Poland Zarząd Portu Morskiego Gdańsk S.A and Zarząd Morskiego Portu Gdynia S.A. launched the tenders for complex advisory services to conduct PPP analysis in order to asses value for money of their envisaged projects, as well as market appetite for involvement in these projects. Both projects with their value, scope of investments and the increase of quality and volume of services that might be offered by both ports in the future are very important for PPP market. If vfm is proved, they can trigger the development of, long awaited, PPP market in the transportation sector, which would stimulate progress not only in the sea ports, but also in other transport modes.

Participants will share their experience and lessons learnt from similar projects in well developed markets, as well as trends in the multimodal transport, including financing and delivery models and legal issues relating to implementation of the projects.
