Melania Munteanu from Jacobs, joins our Branch Council in the UK

We are pleased to welcome on board Melania Munteanu, Director, Investment in Energy and Data Centres at Jacobs, as a new member of our Branch Council in the UK:

We asked Melania a couple of questions:

What would you hope to achieve as a UK Council Member? 

Melania: I would aim to be an active and constructive voice, helping IPFA shape thinking around bankability, market design and mobilisation of private capital at scale. 

I would also seek to strengthen dialogue between investors, central government and regulators, supporting IPFA’s role as a trusted convenor and thought leader in a rapidly evolving market.

If you could personally change or influence one thing within infrastructure and/or energy, what would it be?

Melania: I would accelerate the bankability of the energy transition by better aligning policy, capital and risk allocation. Capital is available, but inconsistent regulation, slow permitting processes and inefficient risk-sharing mechanisms continue to delay projects and increase costs.

I would like to see:

• Clearer long-term policy frameworks.
• Standardised project structures.
• Greater ability to crowd in private capital.
• Improved support for grids, storage and emerging energy transition technologies.

Infrastructure can only deliver net zero, resilience and affordability if investors have confidence that risks are investable, returns are predictable and decisions are made at the speed required.
