Greg Dobson, EY-Parthenon and Tarek El Rakshy, SMBC now co-chair the Australia Branch Council

We are pleased to announce that Greg Dobson, Global Infrastructure Advisory Leader, EY-Parthenon and Tarek El Rakshy, Managing Director and Head of Structured Finance Australia, SMBC are now co-chairs of the Australia branch Council.

IPFA recently caught up with Greg and Tarek to ask them a couple questions:

IPFA: What excites you most about co-chairing the Australia Council and supporting the infrastructure community in the year ahead?

IPFA is a vibrant industry organisation that is focused on enabling the development of Energy and Infrastructure across Australia. In the current market the need for private finance to support the sector has never been greater and as co-chairs we see this as an opportunity to engage in a way that demonstrates the value that our community brings to our wider stakeholders. Our combined backgrounds in banking and consulting mean that we can strongly represent the varied interests of IPFA members and be advocates for our sectors.

IPFA: How do you see the Australia Council continuing to add value for members and the wider industry?

Delivering high quality services to our members in Australia remains a strong focus – be that through our industry seminars and events, future leaders network, learning and development and of course as an enabler for connection across our sectors. Being attuned to evolving industry themes across finance and investment, government and strong linkages to global issues is a key part of the value add of IPFA and we will continue to bring this to our members and wider stakeholders.
