Managing Partner, GKC Partners

Güniz is currently acting as the Managing Partner of GKC Partners, a law firm based in Istanbul affiliated with White & Case, and is leading the Banking and Finance practice of the firm.

Güniz has over 20 years’ experience involving wide range of banking, project finance and structured finance transactions. She represents domestic and foreign sponsors, lenders and multilateral financial institutions on complex financing operations and has developed particular expertise in cross-border financings and securitisations. Güniz has been involved in health sector PPPs, privatization projects, and recently in key sectors, such as infrastructure, power and renewable energy. Her landmark deals include advising on the financing of the New Istanbul Airport and Third Istanbul Bridge. Güniz also played an important advisor role in shaping the regulatory framework relating to restructurings in Turkey, where she advised Turkish Banks Association in the review of The Framework Agreement on Financial Restructuring.

Güniz is a graduate of Ankara University Law School, a qualified lawyer since 1997 and holds an LLM degree from Georgetown University Law Center, Washington D.C.
