Nicole Thio from NSW Treasury, joins our Australia America Future Leaders Network Committee

We are pleased to welcome on board Nicole Thio, Associate Director from NSW treasury as a new member of our Future Leaders Committee in Australia.

We asked Nicole a couple of questions to get to know her better:
IPFA: If you could personally change or influence one thing within infrastructure and/or energy, what would it be?
Nicole: I would like to influence the settings that will allow private capital to support infrastructure priorities. As investors look for opportunities to deploy capital, it is important to engage with the private sector on ways to efficiently finance and sustainably deliver the project pipeline. It is also important to provide the signals and certainty that provide investors with confidence to make long-term commitments.
IPFA: Knowing what you know now, what advice would you give to yourself at the start of your career?
Nicole: I would advise myself to have an open mind. I’ve been able to learn, grow and develop new connections by stepping outside of my comfort zone and embracing different challenges. Being curious and open to new things has allowed me to make the most of every experience.
IPFA: What do you hope to bring to the FLN Committee?
Nicole: I hope to bring different perspectives and ideas to the Future Leaders Committee, by drawing on my passion for the energy transition, and experiences in the public and private sectors, working on large-scale infrastructure and energy projects. I also look forward to collaborating with peers and exploring opportunities to enhance engagement and learning opportunities for the FLN.
