Emerging markets face steep barriers to private investment in clean energy due to regulatory, currency, and political risk. This group will provide a focused platform to explore how innovative de-risking instruments and blended finance strategies can unlock capital for renewable energy, grid modernization, storage, and clean electrification projects in these markets.
Group objectives
- Analyze real-world de-risked and blended finance energy deals.
- Explore innovative use of guarantees, credit enhancements, FX hedges, and concessional layers.
- Facilitate dialogue among MDBs/DFIs, investors, insurers, regulators, and developers.
- Produce guidance briefs, templates, and checklists for transactions.
- Build member capacity via webinars, workshops, and roundtables.
