Daisy Barker from Marsh, joins our Canada Future Leaders Network Committee

We are pleased to welcome on board Daisy Barker, Vice President, Client Executive at Marsh as a new member of our Future Leaders Committee in Canada:

Bio: My name is Daisy Barker, and I have spent the past five years specializing in the National Construction practice at Marsh Canada. I focus exclusively on the construction sector, advising large contractors and general contractors across Canada. In my role, I provide guidance and tailored risk transfer and insurance solutions to help construction and infrastructure clients successfully manage complex construction major projects in Canada & US.

Carol: The future of infrastructure and energy is…

Daisy: already under construction. Canada’s project landscape is expanding faster than it has in decades – from LNG and small modular reactors to defense infrastructure, major transmission lines, and the wave of AI data centres reshaping electricity demand. Sustainability is now built into the economics of these projects, not bolted on – it’s shaping how capital gets deployed and what gets built. With funding committed and the Major Projects Office accelerating approvals, the constraint is delivery. A generation of skilled tradespeople are retiring just as workloads increase, while supply chain demands and climate volatility compound at scale.

Carol: What do you hope to bring to the Canada Future Leaders Committee?

Daisy: I hope to bring a strong Canadian perspective to the Future Leaders Committee, grounded in the region’s unique construction landscape. With growing trends like mass timber, data centres, battery energy storage systems and advancing construction technology, whilst understanding challenges contractors and stakeholders face within Canada. My goal is to translate these insights into practical risk advisory strategies that support resilient, innovative, and sustainable projects. By fostering collaboration and sharing regional knowledge, I aim to help the committee address local challenges while contributing to the broader evolution of IPFA Future Leaders Network.
