New Middle East Council Member from Mott MacDonald
We are pleased to welcome on board Gozde Calim, Senior Manager – Technical Consultant – Infrastructure Development and Economics, Mott MacDonald, as a Middle East Council Member:
We asked Gozde a few questions to get to know her a bit better:
- If you could personally change or influence one thing within infrastructure and/or energy, what would it be?
1. Improvement of governance and regulatory framework in project financing to promote the competition and appetite.
2. Digitalisation of the projects and portfolios performance monitoring where all parties can have aligned records and performance
monitoring tools (on site and off site) to improve efficiency of delivery.
3. Encourge retrofitting, refurbishing for transportation to reduce emissions and monitor effectively.
4. Promote and incentivize the achievement of sustainability targets, creating local and unique solutions for GCC.
- Knowing what you know now, what advice would you give to yourself at the start of your career?
I would have definitely advised myself to realise the importance of one-to-one connections and communications, to be more active on
learning from professionals and experienced individuals. Approach and ask for guidance and mentoring.
- What do you hope to bring to the Middle East Council?
An active and motivated member who’s looking for to learn and grow while contributing and giving different perspectives via my
background.
I have worked with different nationalities, different clients, different countries which helped me to understand that excellence is not only
achieved by knowledge it is achieved by knowing the value of knowledge, behaviour, experience and more.
