Diana Nada from Turner & Townsend, joins our Branch Council in Canada

We are pleased to welcome on board Dr. Diana Nada, Director, Advisory from Turner & Townsend as a new member of our Branch Council in Canada:

We asked Diana a couple of questions:

If you could personally change or influence one thing within infrastructure and/or energy, what would it be?

Diana: I would focus on improving how decisions on major projects and investments are made by placing greater emphasis on governance and how teams collaborate, communicate, and share information. Too often, project challenges are attributed to technical, commercial, or financial factors, when the root causes lie in behaviors, trust, decision-making and organizational culture.

In my experience, creating project environments that foster these values is often a stronger predictor of success and can have a greater impact on outcomes than the technical solution itself.

Knowing what you know now, what advice would you give to yourself at the start of your career? 

Diana: For my younger self: Be intentional about your career, but don’t feel that you need to have the entire path, or a detailed five- to ten-year plan, figured out. Remind yourself that some of the experiences that seem like detours will ultimately become the most valuable parts of your life!

Learn to speak up sooner. Your perspective has value. Protect your energy and your well-being. Build a career that feels meaningful and rewarding to you.

And perhaps the biggest lesson: trust yourself sooner. You know more than you think you do.

What do you hope to bring to the Canada Council?

Diana: I hope to bring a combination of major projects advisory expertise and insights into how governance, culture, and human behavior shape project performance and outcomes. I have a strong interest in advancing thought leadership and facilitating credible dialogue between public and private stakeholders on the delivery of major infrastructure investments.

Through the Canadian Council, I look forward to contributing diverse perspectives, fostering collaboration across the industry, and helping shape discussions that improve the way infrastructure and energy programs are planned, governed, and delivered in Canada.
